Always-on personal agents

Available on request

Give your AI agent its own phone number

Ask ChatGPT Ask Claude

Sanbox gives your agent its own phone number. People text the number, and the agent answers from its own Computer, with the same memory, skills and files it uses everywhere else. Phone numbers are enabled per organisation on request. If you need a channel today, a Hermes Computer has its own email inbox and a Telegram bot.

What do you get?

  • A number that belongs to the agent. Not your personal number, and not a shared support line. Each agent you give a number to is reachable on its own.
  • One agent behind every channel. A text message reaches the same agent, with the same memory, as its email inbox and web UI.
  • The agent's own Computer. The agent works in a persistent Firecracker microVM with its own disk. What it learns from one message is there for the next.
  • The same controls. The agent's network policy, secret proxies and model provider apply to work that starts by text, exactly as they do for work that starts in the console.
  • Always on. The Computer runs until you stop it, so the agent is there when someone texts.

Who is this for?

  • Personal assistants that should be reachable from any phone, without an app.
  • Field and frontline teams who text a question and get an answer from an agent with access to the right internal tools.
  • Products that give each customer an agent they can text.

Enable it for your organisation

Phone numbers are switched on per organisation. Enable it for your organisation and tell us how many agents need a number, which countries the numbers are for, and what the agent should do when someone texts it. We'll set it up with you.

What works today: email and Telegram

You don't have to wait to reach an agent from your phone. A Hermes Computer runs Nous Research's Hermes Agent, which keeps memory across sessions and learns reusable skills. Each Hermes Computer can have:

  • An email inbox on an address from your connected AgentMail account, so you can forward mail to the agent or write to it from any phone.
  • A Telegram bot that answers only the Telegram user IDs you allow.
  • The hosted Hermes web UI in the Sanbox console.

The step-by-step guide is How do I run Hermes Agent in the cloud with memory, skills, an inbox and Telegram?

Coding agents work from a phone too. The console's browser terminal keeps long-running sessions open, so you can check on an agent from a phone's browser. See How do I keep Claude Code running 24/7 and control it from my phone?

What to know before you ask

  • Model costs are yours. The agent calls the model provider you configure, with your key. Every text that the agent answers is a model call.
  • Think about who can text it. A phone number is easier to find than a Telegram bot. Decide which tools and data an agent reachable by text should have, and keep its network policy narrow.
  • No payments. A phone number doesn't give the agent a way to pay for anything.
